The meeting was called to order by Sec. Bonnie Tisler at 7:00.  Pres. Tom Ireland and Bill Dunlevy were unable to attend.  25 members attended.

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

New Business –Alaska Miners Assn. has invited us to participate with them at the Alaska State Fair on Saturday Sept 1.  Jim Troxell will chair the panning tables.

We need a new banner for under $100.  Rick Parks said a 3’x5’ is available for $85.  GPAA now lists us so we can use their logos etc.

Several members helped with gold panning at the Governor’s Picnic.  Gov. Parnell circulated in the crowd and talked with our members.  Gold was provided by the AMA and the unused gold was returned to them.  Next event we need to include a low trough for handicapped panners.

Announcements – Linda Henderson has pictures from Colorado Creek and Rick Parks has Hatcher Pass photos.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30.

Respectfully submitted by Bonnie Tisler, Sec. Tres.

Our speaker was the new executive director of the AMA.  Her topics included a recent trip with Steve Borell to 10 placer mines.  She met the miners and saw their operations.  She addressed the Federal Overreach and response to small operators plans and all the hurdles to a mine plan for Bristol Bay.  Another topic was Ballot Measure two.  She says it was written by lawyers and environmentalists from Juneau.  Nothing is in black and white.  The AMA has spent $150,000 in a campaign to defeat Ballot Measure 2.

There was a question and answer session following her presentation.
