The meeting was called to order by member Andres Macias at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  21 attended,

Minutes and Tres. Reports were read and approved as read.

Old Business- Labor Day Outing – Andre contacted Nate.  Fees for the Crow Creek Mine are $15/day to mine, Hi-bank or dredge $10/inch and camping is $10/day.  Club will provide hamburgers and hotdogs for the potluck Sunday at about 3:00.  Sign-up sheet provided.  Members not attending this meeting should contact me or Andre at 830-2299.

New Business –Mining day at the State Fair – The AMA has asked for our help with their booth on August 30th from 10-5.  John Pakan will bring two tubs, pans and gravel.  Roger King, Bonnie Tisler and John Pakan will teach panning.  Roger King will remove the tubs and Take them home.  Linda Henderson will store them for us.  Bonnie Tisler will contact Amanda at AMA regarding tickets.  I will request 6 tickets and 4 parking passes for our participants.  Additional instructors would be helpful.  Call Bonnie for tickets and details.

Gem and Mineral Society is looking for a site to house Craig Casners rock equipment to use it for educational opportunities.  They would welcome suggestions.

Announcements. –Andre said the Gem and Mineral Society will probably have a space at the Northway Mall during the second weekend of the Fur Rondy.  They may provide space for us to also demonstrate.

Andre did go to Chicken.  He used a hi-banker and recovered 3 grams in one day.  It rained one inch in the night and flooded his tent.  Chicken Gold Cam will be open until Sept. 15th.

Bonnie testified during the EPA hearing on Pebble Mine.  She emphasized the need to let the State permit proceed.

Roger King told us about his gold trip to the Wrangels.  His group mined 9 ¼ oz. from a bench deposit.  Metal detecting added some gold.  The bears left the cabin alone.  The weather was good.

Clifton Shannon mined some culverts near Hope early in the spring and got some gold.
