The meeting was called to order by Vice- President Bill Dunlevy at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  52 attended and 9 were new members.

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

Old Business –Gold Show – The gold show will not be held this year.  We hope to have it next year on Father’s Day weekend.

New Business – Baxter Elementary has asked us to demonstrate gold panning.  Sign-up sheet was circulated.

Carey Mills of Fairbanks has filed suit for access on historic trails.  He has lobbied in Juneau and asked the Governor’s office to join him in the suit stressing State’s Rights.  The Feds. are decreasing access and increasing water quality for dredges over 8”.  He wants 25,000 people to donate $10 each to pay for the legal battle for access.  A motion was made for our Chapter to donate $500.00.  Motion was seconded and passed.

 The Forest Service on the Kenai needs a plan of operation for dredges larger than 4”.

 The Chicken outing sign-up was circulated.

 Attendees were introduced and gave a brief history.

 Steve Cuin is on the Miner’s and Trapper’s Ball committee.  He urged members to attend.  Tickets are $30.00 each.

 Meeting was adjourned.
