February Minutes

  February 19, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Bill Dunlevy at 7:00.   32 members attended, 7 are new.   

Minutes and Tres. Reports were read and approved as amended. Attendees were introduced.

 Old Business – The ice fishing Jamboree – The club contributed $20 in coins for the hunt.  Five members brought detectors for the hunt and helped the children.  A thank you note from Swims Like a Fish was received.  The kids caught a lot of fish this year and the weather was cold but better.

 The AMA held the small miner’s meeting.  Regulators are trying to simplify the paperwork.  Isobel Blackwell issues the mining licenses.

 Gold Show – Bill Dunlevy said we should begin contacting vendors and demonstrators. Cliff Brulotte said there will be a blue grass band from 7-10 in the evening.  He will also have a potluck barbecue for guests and visitors.  There is an opportunity to have power point presentations, movies and Dvds on site.

 Jim Troxell, Ralph Henderson and Bill Dunlevy volunteered to make panning tubs.

 New Business – none

 Announcements – Mining license renewal packets will be mailed out soon.

 Dredging permits from habitat will now be issued from Soldotna.

 Small miners meeting will be Mar 5th    Thurs. AM at 10:00 at the AMA office.

 John Pakan and Bonnie Tisler have found items left at meetings.

 March 21-22 is the Gold Show in Puyalllup.

 Panning at the RV park will be June 2nd and July 14th.

 Meeting was adjourned.
