July 2011

The meeting was called to order by President Tom Ireland at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  40 attended and 1 was a new member.

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

Old Business –Chicken Outing – The Saturday night group potluck was good.  Monday the 4th our group again was lucky.  Tom Ireland won the panning contest.  Christine Crouch guessed the jar of gold and won the split.  The weather was good.  Our Chapter again helped with the set-up and cooking.  The weather cooperated this year.  In the morning at the 40 mile Miner’s meeting,  Bill Dunlevy presented Carey Mill with a check for $1000 from our group.  The Miners also donated $1000 toward his effort to have access to his claim RS-2477.  Mining was good and some had all time high takes for the day.  We were invited to visit an active mining operation near Chicken.  They use bulldozers and a trammel.

June Gold Show – Members are encouraged to begin gathering vendors.  We need to set prices for spaces.  Linda Henderson will contact Earl Bragg about the number and sizes available.

New Business – Crow Creek Outing on Labor Day weekend.  A sign-up sheet will be passed at the next meeting.

Announcements Rick and Linda have shirts and badges with our Chapter logo.

Beach sand from Cripple River was shown.  Our member saw Grizzlies and Musk Ox.

Meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted by Bonnie Tisler, Sec. Tres.
