The meeting was called to order by Pres. Tom Ireland at 7:00.  27 attended..

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

Old Business – Chicken Outing.  Bonnie Tisler and Roger King reported on the outing.  16 members attended the potluck and picnic on the 4th of July.  $200.00 was spent on prizes and Alaska Mining prizes of a panning kit and two sets of dredging glove were taken there by members.  Our crew helped set up the tent.  Roger even brought a step ladder.  Bonnie helped sorting the prizes and documenting donors for the drawing.

A panning instruction was held at Hatcher Pass on the 4th by 6 members who did not go to Chicken. Tim Troxell reported a few hundred people came.  Donlin mine and Oxford Assaying donated the gold for the event that was sponsored by the DNR.  Channel 11 covered the event.

Colorado Creek – Kenai Chapter hosted a potluck on July 14th.  50 GPAA members attended.  State Senator Waggoner from Kenai and his wife came.  The Forest Service and the media were no shows.  Some Kenai members did some mining.  It was a cool day but the bonfire and conversation was heated.  Attendance was documented and the sheet will be given to the Forest Service.  Kenai ‘s President said high water upstream has exposed some bed rock and there is a possibility that the lower claims may come to GPAA.

New Business – We need to decide if we want a Labor Day outing at Crow Creek mine.  Tom Ireland will chair the event if members can attend.

Announcements – Wayne and Chris Crouch have purchased a house near Stanton , Ariz.  Patented land is nearby as are the GPAA claims.  They plan to winter there and come back to us by motor home in the summer.

Bonnie Tisler will call the AMA office to see if Deantha Crockett the Executive Director can be out speaker for next month.
