March 2016

March 17

The meeting was called to order by President Bill Dunlevy at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  29  attended.

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

Old business – Boat Show  - 15 members volunteered over the four days.  300 new panners got gold.  Not all of the gold was used.

Outdoor week will be  May 10- 13th.  There is a sign-up sheet for this annual event.

Great Alaska Sportsman Show – We will be teaching panning March 31-April 3 at the Alaska Mining Diving booth.  This will be in a heated outdoor booth.  Sign-up sheet provided.

New Business – The Alaska Miners Assn. has raised their annual membership fee to $125.  We will not reimburse the officers in the future.  This increase was due to increases in lobbying expenses mainly.  We are well represented in the Small Miners monthly meetings.

Memorial Day Outing – This will be held at the Crow Creek Mine again this year.  The Chapter will provide meat for the Sunday potluck. Some members usually drive down on Friday.  The mine is open from 9-6 and there is usually some discount of the fees.

A TV film crew is asking for miners to apply for short term jobs.  Bill Dunlevy has details.  This reality show is titled White Water mining.  Bill Bear has this posted on the web site.

Announcements – The web site has been renewed.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:40.

Respectfully submitted by Bonnie Tisler, Sec. Tres.
