The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Bill Dunlevy at 7:00. 56 members attended, 6 are new.
Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.
Old Business – Outdoor Week. 10 volunteers taught Anchorage 6th graders to pan for gold. 1600 children attended and all got the opportunity to learn to pan.
4th of July – Bill Dunlevy – 82 members have signed up. We need an accurate count for the meat purchase. Steve Gieiseking said Busby has opened a new area.
PA system – Bill Bear purchased a P.A. system. It includes and amplifier and clip on microphone. Background music is possible. It comes with a stand and carrying bag. Can be run by automobile power and can be recharged.
Promotional Items – Rick Parks and Linda Henderson showed samples from the Army Navy Store. The original logo can be embroidered on a vest or jacket. Patches would be best in a square form. Members are to contact Rick or Linda with ideas about items.
Announcements – Steve Gieiseking reported there is no sign on the pay to pan area in Willow Creek. It may still be possible. Bill Bear will also inquire.
Charlotte Foley gave a Stanton Report. At the Rendezvous they did digs and had vendors. There was a night metal detecting hunt. She brought paper work from GPAA.
Charlotte also said the Treasure Seekers will hold a hunt at the Palmer Fairgrounds on June 26-27th.
We will have an outing at Crow Creek Mine on the Memorial Day weekend May 28- 31st. Sunday will be a potluck. The Chapter will provide hot dogs and buns. Members are urged to bring their Chapter Cards for entry.
