November 2010

The meeting was held Thursday, November 18, and called to order by Vice-President Bill Dunlevy at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  41 attended and 14 were new members.

Minutes and Tres. Report were read and approved.

Old Business –Gold Show – Ken and Laura Orr volunteered to chair the Gold Show.  Possible dates were discussed.  June 18-19 is the Father’s Day weekend.  June 25-26 might be better dates.  Bill Dunlevy recommended 14 screen gold for salting the bags.  We would get 200 bags/oz.  Bill will talk to Oxford and the Alaska Mint about prize donations for this year’s show.  Door prizes and the salted bags have helped sell drawing tickets.  Bill Bear asked if we need more rack cards.  Bill said they are being used at Crow Creek Mine and Alaska Mining and Diving, but we should have enough.  Bobby Little suggested using groupon.com.

New Business – Discussed next months meeting.  Decision to cancel the Dec. meeting.  Next regular meeting will be January 20th.

The ice fishing Jamboree will be January 8-9.  Sign-up sheet was circulated.

The GPAA Rendezvous will be in Congress, Ariz.  Our representatives will be Wayne and Christine Crouch.  It is unknown if Charlotte Foley will attend.

Announcements – Bob Thomas said there will be 6 weeks about the gold rush on the Discovery Channel starting Dec. 3rd.

Alaska Mining and Diving will have a sale between Christmas and New Years.

Respectfully submitted by Bonnie Tisler, Sec. Tres.
