September 2013

September 19, 2013

The meeting was called to order by Bonnie Tisler at 7:00 after our monthly potluck.  21 attended.

Minutes and Tres. Reports were read and approved.

Old Business – Crow Creek outing – Brian Webber reported that 8 or 9 members mined and 12 were there for the potluck.  The creek was running high.  It was a rainy weekend.  There were two weddings and the music went on all night.  Roger King reported the mine has bought some upstream claims so there may be a larger area in the future.

Mining day at the Fair – John Pakan reported that he and Karen, Craig Casner, and the Crouches taught panning.  Craig brought the tubs and pans.  AMA provided the gold.  The sign was returned to Roger.

Gold Show – Richard Cowles contacted the Sportsman’s Show management and brought an application for an 8x8 space.  Dates are March 27th to the 30th.  Space rental fee is $1000 but we may be able to get a discount to $500.  The booth would be near the Fish Pond in the Ben Boeke arena.  Discussion followed.  We need to know if we could sell salted sand or have a raffle.  The deadline for the application is January 20th.  Bonnie Tisler explained the difference between a Gold Show and a panning booth.  John Pakan questioned if we could get the necessary volunteers for a four day commitment.  Frank Holt made a motion that we go on to new business and announcements.  Motion seconded and passed.

There was no new business.

Announcements – Steve Gieseking has 2 40 acre claims on Willow creek for sale.  They are located between mile 29.5 and 30.5.  There is a parking area.  Crossing the creek would be necessary.  Details are on the web site.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:04.

Minutes were taken by Sandi Garcia and typed by Bonnie Tisler, Sec. Tres.
